Welcome to Incredible India | New Delhi
Your journey begins at Indira Gandhi International Airport. A private transfer takes you to the hotel, you will have time to freshen up and adjust to the time zone.
In the evening, you will meet your fellow travelers and tour manager Charlie over a welcome dinner.
Please note: If you have dietary requirements, these need to be communicated in advance, preferably before March 1.

Day 2 | March 20
Old Delhi: A Walk Through Time | Delhi
The morning opens at Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, before you weave through Chandni Chowk by rickshaw; one of the oldest markets in the world.
This is followed by a peaceful stop at Raj Ghat, Gandhi's memorial on the Yamuna. In the afternoon, we'll head to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where the Sikh tradition of langar (a free community meal open to everyone) offers one of the most moving experiences of the trip.
The day wraps up at the towering Qutub Minar, India's tallest minaret and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will get around the city on a private vehicle and cycle rickshaws.

The morning opens at Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, before you weave through Chandni Chowk by rickshaw; one of the oldest markets in the world.

The road trip is approximately a 5-hour drive in a private air-conditioned coach. The countryside between Delhi and Jaipur is worth watching: farmland, roadside dhabas, and the landscape gradually shifting pink and ochre as Rajasthan comes into view.
Once you arrive in Jaipur, there's an optional free block printing and textile workshop, a centuries-old craft, and you'll get to take your work home. The day wraps up with a home-cooked dinner hosted by a local Jaipur family.

Journey to the Pink City | Delhi to Jaipur
The road trip is approximately a 5-hour drive in a private air-conditioned coach. The countryside between Delhi and Jaipur is worth watching: farmland, roadside dhabas, and the landscape gradually shifting pink and ochre as Rajasthan comes into view.

Holi: Festival of Colors | Jaipur
India's most joyful festival occurs when we visit Rajasthan, exactly where you want to be! The festival brings color, music, dancing, and the happiness of being completely, irreversibly covered in powder. After heading back to the hotel to clean up and rest, the afternoon is all about traditional Holi sweets and thandai, the cold spiced milk drink that's as much a part of Holi as the colors themselves.

Palace & Observatory | Jaipur
It's a full day exploring Pink City. You will see Hawa Mahal's extraordinary honeycomb façade, visit the City Palace (still home to the Maharajas of Jaipur), and visit the Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage astronomical observatory.

It's a full day exploring Pink City. You will see Hawa Mahal's extraordinary honeycomb façade, visit the City Palace (still home to the Maharajas of Jaipur), and visit the Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage astronomical observatory.

The Stepwell Route | Jaipur to Agra
The drive from Jaipur to Agra takes about 5-6 hours, with a stop at a magnificent ancient stepwell (a baoli). These underground water structures are a feat of engineering. From there, the drive continues through the flat plains of Uttar Pradesh, arriving in Agra by evening.

You will be at the Taj Mahal early, the morning is spent exploring the entire complex: its gardens, mosque, mausoleum, and soaring minarets.
Then, Agra Fort a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was once the great Red Fort of the Mughal Empire. A farewell Agra dinner of Mughlai cuisine closes out the day.

The Taj Mahal & Mughal Splendor | Agra
You will be at the Taj Mahal early, the morning is spent exploring the entire complex: its gardens, mosque, mausoleum, and soaring minarets.
Then, Agra Fort a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was once the great Red Fort of the Mughal Empire. A farewell Agra dinner of Mughlai cuisine closes out the day.

Indian Railways | Agra to Khajuraho
The train to Khajuraho runs through the heart of Central India, landscape shifts from the flat plains of Uttar Pradesh into the greener, wilder terrain of Madhya Pradesh.
On arrival, there's an evening Sound & Light Show at the Khajuraho temples, which runs weather permitting.

The carvings cover every surface: celestial musicians, warriors, daily life, and the erotic panels which make Khajuraho famous.
After lunch, the group drives to Panna National Park, one of India's finest tiger reserves and one of the conservation's great success stories (tigers were locally extinct here in 2009 and have since made a full recovery). An evening jeep safari heads out as the light turns gold.

Orchha: The Forgotten Kingdom | Panna to Orchha
